Course Description
Course Overview
The Basic Gynecological Ultrasound course introduces participants to the principles and practice of ultrasound in evaluating the female pelvis. It emphasizes normal pelvic anatomy, common gynecological conditions, and safe application of both transabdominal and transvaginal sonography.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Understand pelvic ultrasound physics, instrumentation, and patient preparation.
Identify normal uterine and ovarian anatomy on ultrasound.
Perform basic transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound scans.
Evaluate the endometrium, myometrium, and adnexa.
Detect common gynecological pathologies (e.g., fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease).
Recognize sonographic features of early pregnancy complications (e.g., miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy).
Document and report findings effectively.
